Cost per item = labor cost per item + materials per item
Suggested retail price = cost per item × markup multiplier
Total batch cost = cost per item × quantity
Estimated revenue = suggested retail price × quantity
Estimated profit = estimated revenue − total batch cost
Estimated margin = estimated profit ÷ estimated revenue × 100

Embroidery pricing questions

Does stitch count change the price in this calculator?

No. Stitch count is recorded for reference only. Run time depends on your machine speed, thread breaks, hooping and fabric, so instead of guessing a stitches-per-minute rate for you, this calculator asks for the sewing time you actually expect per item and prices that time.

How should I account for color or thread changes?

Color changes are recorded for reference only. If trims, re-threads and manual color stops add handling time, add that time to sewing time per item. If a design consumes noticeably more thread, raise materials per item.

Does the calculator apply a minimum order quantity?

No. Quantity accepts 1 to 10,000 items and no minimum order fee is added. If your shop charges a minimum, a setup fee or a small-run surcharge, add it to materials per item or raise the markup for that job.

How accurate is the estimate?

It is exactly as accurate as the numbers you enter. The starting hourly rate, materials cost and markup are editable placeholders, not industry standards. Digitizing, machine overhead, waste, shipping, tax and payment fees are not modeled separately, so include them in your own inputs when they matter.

Can I send this to a customer as a formal quote?

Treat it as an internal planning estimate. The copyable summary is a starting point for your own quote document, and the final price still depends on the shop’s quote, your terms and a finished sample.
